CMM - Perfect Pearls Faux Metal cards

Welcome to Card Making Monday and to my little space on the blog sphere. I am so excited to show you my latest cards! I pulled out my perfect pearls and got creative. I saw this faux metal tutorial by Jennifer McGuire and thought I'd use it for my inspiration. I changed it up a bit by die cutting the center piece and then reinserting it after it was colored and embossed. I just couldn't get the clean lines like Jennifer using the painters tape. I'll link her video here and also under my tutorial tab. Hope you like them!

For the card above, I cut a hello greeting from my cricut (see supply list below) added some punched hearts and purple pearls.

For this card  I kept the embossing just to the center piece for a focal point leaving a smooth surface for the rest of my greeting.
I die cut the frame and then measured and cut a center rectangle slightly larger to accomodate the fact that when the center is embossed it becomes slightly smaller than the frame. I think I added 1/8th of an inch, maybe 1/4inch at most.

I layered the diecut sentiment useing 3 or 4 of them and then sprayed pearl mist.

Supplies:
Baby's Breath & Herringbone Cuttlebug folders
Martha Stewart  Dancing Hearts Border punch
Grape & Manderin Perfect Pearls by Ranger
"Happy" Cake Basics Cricut cartridge
"Hello" Wild Card Cricut cartridge
Hero Arts Year Round Sentiments for Birthday Sentiment

I hope you enjoyed viewing today's cards. Have a wonderful week and I hope you find time for yourself to to make something beautiful!

UMT-Lighthouse Cards

Good Morning and Happy Thursday! Welcome to my blog and I hope you find crafty inspiration! On Thursdays I post crafts, cards, or layouts using tools I have neglected. I've either used stamps, embellishments, tools or some  other item that has been tossed to the waist side on my craft desk or put in a drawer for a while. Today I am showcasing a card using sentiment stamps. I don't often make cards with sentiments that are lengthy. I tend to stick to Get Well or Happy Birthday sentiments but these caught me eye when i was rummaging through my collection. I just had to use them for my Using My Tools Post this week.

I added encouragement sentiments from sets by Stampin' Up. I'll be putting these cards in my masculine stash of cards just perfect for encouraging special men in my life.

I hope you enjoyed my card posting and finds inspiration to try this card for yourself using stamps you have tucked away.  They are quite easy to assemble and look so impressive!

WW-Birthday Bear Tri-fold

Hello and Happy Wednesday! I'm so glad you're visiting! Today's card make good use of a video tutorial for making a Tri-fold card. You can find a link to that tutorial under my tutorial tab along with lots of other inspiration samples on my blog.

For today's card I also made good use of some left over diecuts I had from another project. Not so sure why I only had green bears but the bears coordinated nicely with these papers so it all worked out.

CMM-Golf Cart Card

Hey there and welcome to Card Making Monday here at all things beautiful! I made a fun little card for dad. This dad loves golf but doesn't get to play as often as he'd like so I thought a warm greeting with a little golf cart fun might encourage and brighten his day. I chose an SVG file from SVGCuts.com called Father's Day Box Cards SVG Set. I hope you like my card and check out the great SVG's from SVGCuts. I love popping on over once in a while to see what new inspiration they have created.

Here's a few more views for you. The SVG also comes with a panel you can use on the back to stamp or write your greetings.

I hope you enjoyed viewing my version of this card. Have a fabulouos week and remember to make something beautiful!

UMT-Lunch Notes

Happy Thursday Everyone!Welcome to this week's Using My Tools Thursday. Today's project is not only cute, fun but also something your kids will love. Today's tools are a whole lotta kid stamps. My kids are 17, 15 and 13 so these stamps haven't seen the light of day for ages!

Even though my kids are teens, I couldn't help but make these anyway. I plan to leave them on their pillow rather than in their lunch bag since I think they would be mortified if their friends at the Middle and High schools found them! In any case, my kids will always be my babies so I wanted to give this technique a try, even if, I do get a bunch of eye rolling from my "too grown up" kids. ;-)

I found a tutorial on how to make these from Jennifer McGuire. I will link it here. She uses a die set but I just used cartridges from my Cricut. I couldn't see spending $25.00 for the die set to make these lunch notes when I had cut files already.  I grabbed various stamps from different sets and just went crazy! I made 24 notes.

Maybe I'll give you an update on how it went over with my teens....at least secretly, I think they'll be grateful mom took the extra time to leave encouraging and loving notes for them. I wish I paper crafted when they were little because I definitely would have put these to good use in elementary school!

Well, I hope you have a fabulous weekend and find time to make something beautiful!
