Scrapbook Saturday # 3 -The Perfect Blend

Hello all! Welcome to my blog and thank you for browsing. I LOVE Starbucks! That's my one guilty pleasure besides cardmaking and scrapbooking ofcourse! I thought I should document my favorite drink.

I used a simple layout from Scrapbooks Etc. You can find the free sketches here. I added a wrapper from stasrbucks for texture. *Not acid free :-(

I cut the coffee cup from a Cricut Cartridge file and then added some glitter glue to the top of the pot for some shimmer like glass. The letters were cut with SCAL and the journaling i did on my computer in a word document.

That's all for now; just a quick simple layout. I hhope you enjoyed my layout! Have as great Saturday and don't forget to make something beautiful!

Using My Tools Thursday # 6- Cut Files

Hello all and welcome to Using My Tools Thursday. This week, Cut files! Those oh so gotta have it cut files to use from my PC to my cricut. This card is actually part of a christmas collection but I decided to use my 6x6 pad by My Mind's Eye for a floral feel.

You can find the cut files here. You can also find a tutorial here and many more tutorials under my tutorial tab here.
I made 2 cards just slightly different in color pallete. This accorden card takes some time but it's so impressive once completed.

To add some balance to the card front I added ribbon, a button and some Viva Decor pearls in bronze.
I completed the flower with button and gems as the center for a dramatic impact.

I also inked the edges using Color Box ink in chestnut brown and curry yellow. Thecardstock is from Bazzill-Curry, Bittersweet Choclate. The cream is cardstock is from Recollections.

I hope you enjoyed this card. If you're not a follower feel free to become one. I'd love to have oyu check out my creations and if you have a blog I love inspiration so I'd love to follow you! Have a wondrful day! Don't forget make some beautiful today!

Here's my card using the sketch....I used papers from My Minds Eye 6x6 stack Sunshine

Thesenitment is a something I've had in my stash for years. I think I actually found it in the jewelry section. I used pearls from martha Stewart...

and cut flowers from a cut file you can find here.

I hope you like my card and please let me know what you think. I love to hear your comments! If you haven't done so...please consider following me and have a wonderful week! Don't's your turn to make something beautiful!

Card Making Monday # 1- OWH Sketch 173

Hello and welcome to my blog! I hope you're having a great day and enjoy my card creation.
My card Making Monday posts are cards I've made using various techniques. Usually something new I've learned or some technique I haven't used in a while. If it's something new, I'll link the tutorial I used in my Tutorial tab at the top.

I'm a little late on completing this card. It's been done for several weeks but I was stuck on the sentiment. Finally I saw this one that wasn't an exact fit but worked well. Boy was this paper from Everyday Ecletic hard to work with. I was so stumped about how to use it but I did find the camera image on I believe Paper doll Dress Cricut cartridge.

I added some glitter glue to the flash and covered that with glossy accents to seal in the glitter and to give it a little raise demension. I distressed all the layers and inked up the sentiment flag too. I used Bazill cardstock ninAsh and Quicksand

So all and all I'm happy with how this came out just couldn't believe I've been staring at it for so long. Now i'm going to make a duplicate with the leftover scraps.
Have a beautiful day!

Scrapbook Saturday # 2- Feathered Friends

Welcome and thank you for checkin' out my blog! So glad your here and I can't wait to show you my new Saturday Scrapbook page. Boy, I went way back with this weeks photo. My son is about 7 years old in this picture but is a Freshman in High school now. Oh how time flies! I didn't start scrapbooking until just a few years ago so I've been cropping and embellishing like a mad woman ever since to get all the baby, toddler, and school pictures cropped.

Alright enough of that...and on to the page.

I chose just a simple layout of greens and yellows with rounded corners. I tried to incorporate some element of nature to coordinate with the theme of the bird. I chose lighter colors for the background paper because the photo was so dark and used "Owl" just for fun. I just loved the image!

Owl comes from Cricut cartridge "Pooh and Friends"

That's it for today. If you don't already follow me please consider doing so and take some time to browse my other postings. I hope you like the page and are inspired to scrapbook today too!
Enjoy your Saturday and take some time to make something beautiful!

Using My Tools Thursday # 5 - Time

Hello and welcome to another Using My Tools segment. Time and clock theme cards have been in vogue for a little bit now. I was so excited to jump on board and buy some of the beautiful tools to create such cards's been a while and these tools were calling....use me, use me!

When I embossed the brown paper I cut out one of the clocks out. It's hard to see the dry embossing on the card due to the card colored card stock. Sorry. I then added some faux stitching and a sheer ribbon. I originally added some bronze pearl pen pearls around the circle portion but absolutely hated it and tore the card apart and remade it.

pocket watch is from Hampton Art, Timne Pieces
Sentiment Stamp TPC Studio, Faithful Greeting

Feel free to leave a comment on this post. I would love to hear from you and please consider following me.
I hope you enjoy your day and make sure to create something beautiful.

OWH Sketch 177

Hello and welcome to my blog! I'm so glad your visiting!  I was so excited about creating a card using this sketch. It has so much interest yet its clean and crisp.

Yet..boy, it took me a while to come up with a concept. I started with the patterned paper for inspiration and slowly things came together. Here it is....
I thought this image of the cat had a hint of vintage to coordinate with the paper and I carried out the polka dot theme throughout with both the gold and aqua paper having dot. I then added the white brads and in the little piece of ribbon that also had polka dots.

MME Sunshine 6x6 Pad
Lili of the Valley Puss in Boots ST158
Bazzil Cardstock  Bitter Chocolate
White brads and bits of ribbon from stash

I hope you enjoyed my card and are inspired. Feel free to browse my other posts and leave comments on any. Also, please consider following me. I hope you have a beautiful Tuesday!

In Honor of Father's Day

Hello There! Now I know Father's Day was yesterday but certainly I didn't want the post to precede the giving of the cards so I'm posting them today after the big event. I used manly papers and some metal materials to enhance the male factor.
For both cards I made the wood grain paper using a technique I learned from a card making DVD by Megan Elizabeth from Above Rubies Studio. You can find the video hereI added the eyelets and metal ties to add interest. The metal ties are from the jewelry making section of your craft store. The patterned paper from both cards are from the DCWV paper The Guy stack. I popped up the patterned grill paper with dimensional adhesive and adhered the sentiment flat.

For this card I went a bit more clean and simple but with lots of layering. I added some felt ribbon for texture and I used  You're Amazing stamp by Studio G for the sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed this post and feel free to leave comments on one or both cards. Have a great Monday and don't forget to take some time for yourself and create something beautiful!

Scrapbook Saturday # 1 - Eerie-sistible

Welcome! Welcome! I'm so glad your visiting! Another Saturday and another Scrapbook page. As always I scrapbook out of order and more like what I feel like putting to page. This week is a fun layout using a black and white photo. This weeks layout has lots of elements  to share.
First the title. I played around with some Halloween themed titles and decided upon one I found in Inspiration Station. You can find the book here. I gather a lot of titles, sentiments and inspirational quotes from this book. It's a must have for card makers and scrapbookers alike. I also used a pleating technique. You can find the tutorial here and many more tutorials under my tutorial tab here.

This layout uses a variety of textures and materials. In this picture you can see I've combined some stickers and felt pumpkins. The felt self-adhesive Jack-O-Lanterns are from Martha Stewart.

I also added some texture and dimension by using a heavy weight ribbon and accordion folding of the pattern paper.

Lastly, I also used a metal embellishment that serves a dual purpose. it completes my title and adds a unique element to the page.

Well, that's it! My Saturday Scrapbook page. I hope you like it and please feel free to leave comments. I love hearing from you! Would love to have you follow me as well and now it's your turn. Go make something beautiful!

Using my Tools # 4- Honeycomb Hexagon

Hello! I'm so glad your here. Thank you for taking the time to pop in and see what I've been creating!

For this card, I Chose to use am image from a cartridge I haven't used in a very, VERY long time. Accent Essentials. Hexagons have been the new rage recently. I recently bought Tim Holz Honeycomb embossing folder and a Hexagon stamp from a set by Geo graphics. Well, it occurred to me that before I buy a honeycomb punch to coordinate that I may have a cit file already on one of my Cricut cartridges.
I used some ribbon and a dollar stamp I purchased at Michaels Art & Crafts and the patterned paper comes from what little I have left of my Echo Park Everyday Eclectic 6 x 6 paper pad. I was so glad when it dawned on my to make tis card using this cut file. I have very little and I mean very little scraps left of this paper pad and hexagons set at 1.25 inches were perfect for this card. I have enough to make a few more duplicates that I'll send off to our heroes through OWH

I hope you enjoyed viewing my card and are inspired to make your own clean and simple card using something from your stash that's been neglected. Comment and let me know what you've neglected from your stash.  Have a great day! and don't forget, go make something beautiful today!

Times to Treasure

Welcome to my little spot on the blog sphere! I hope you enjoy browsing my projects and consider following me. It's my scrapbook Saturday so for today I've completed scrapbook layout using multiple techniques or elements.

My daughter took a sewing class in town and we just fell in love with the sewing teacher, Amy. If you live near Somerset, MA contact Amy at Amy's Fabric Treasure. She's fab! You can see her  Facebook page here. oh and if your wondering why I have a date in the bottom right hand corner. I started dating my scrapbook pages with the date I completed the project. Although this one I didn't finish up the details until June 1. I out it away and forgot all about it. Anyway, I started doing that because I am scrapbooking my pictures out of order and I know as I improve my pages will be at different skill levels.

For tis layout I used cut files from . You can find the file here. I added 3 eyelets to give it that lacing feel,

viva decor pearl pen for the tips of the pins in colors, pearl, silver and bronze and embroidery to give it  texture. I cut the title with files from SCAL (Sure Cuts Alot.) based on fonts in my MS word program.

Thank you for stopping by and checkin' out my Scrapbook Saturday. Please feel free to leave comments on this post or any other on my blog and enjoy your day. Don't forget, make something beautiful!

I was given Mojo Monday sketch for May 2, 2011. You can find Mojo Monday sketches  here.

OWH Sketch 175

Hello and Welcome! I hope you take the time to do a little browsing of my blog and are inspired by the projects posted. Feel free to leave comments on any post and I hope you consider following me as I continue to attempt to create something beautiful!
So, this is Operation Write Home's sketch 175 challenge. I made the card on the right first and felt it was a bit overdone so I simplified a bit with the card on the left. I think I like the card on the left the best. I'm a plain Jane so clean and classic cards for me although I can't seem to stop embellishing so I'm not sure how those two fit together. :-/

Anyway, I am using a new paper pack from a card class I'm taking it's  Stationary Noted by Teresa Collins and the card stock is by Bazill Devil Red and Ash

I added some additional embellishments from the card kit. The blue and gray card is embossed with Cuttlebug folder Damask

Thank you for stopping and have a wonderful day and don't forget it's your turn to make something beautiful!

I finished up with a sentiment I printed from my computer with word and some brads I purchased from oriental trading.

Hope you've enjoyed and are inspired by my project. Thank you for visiting and now it's your turn to make something Beautiful!

Stars and Stripes-red, white & Blue card

Hello and Welcome! Thank you for stopping by and perusing my blog. I hope you are inspired and enjoy the projects you see. Feel free to leave a comment on any post and please consider becoming a follower.

I made this card using a new 6 x 6 paper pad. This pad came as part of a kit I received from my local scrapbooking store, Right At Home in North Attleboro MA. You can visit their web page here or on Facebook here. Anyway, I know I said I wouldn't buy anymore 6x6 pads BUT as all of you crafters know; that's a resolution we never seem to keep. Besides, it was part of a card kit of the month. That's an exclusion right?! ;-)

Anyhow, on to the card. I had fun making this card. A friend of mine showed me the fold and this is what I came up with. You can find a tutorial on how to make a Joy Fold card here. You can also find more tutorials on my tutorial tab here.
I just couldn't stop embellishing!

The 6 x 6 pad is by Teresa Collins
