Card Making Monday # 28 - Congratulatons Banners

Hello! Welcome to another fabulous week and another card making Monday posting! I hope you enjoy this card and take time to browse my other postings too. Feel free to leave comments below and this or any other post.
I used Quilting Bee Patterned paper by My Minds Eye along with my typical Bazill cardstock. I just love the heavy feel of this cardstock for cards! I discoverd I need the lighter stuff for my scrapbook pages even though Bazill cardstock is so lucious but it weighs the books down. I used OWH sketch #188 for this card.

I used up some small scraps for this card. I love the premade sketches for this reason. It helps me to use most of what I would consider "bucket scraps", too small to keep. I added some embossing thread, very tiny brads and some orange gems to comeplete this card.

Please leave a comment and let me know what's your favorite element of this card. I always try to reply to all the comments. Please consider following me and I would love to visit and follow your blog too! I love finding inspiration!

Tip Top Tuesday- Ducky Sketch

Hello friends and visitors! Welcome to my little blogspace and for another Design Team post for Tip Top Tuesday. This weeks challenge is to use our favorite sketch.

My favorite sketches are from  Operation Write Home.  I love their sketches because they offer all the dimensions for each part of the sketch. No guess work! For this card I was given the privilege to work with an image from OKR Stampede. I chose digi21906 Duck. I've made an effort to focus a little more on male themed cards. I tend to go girly so I am most often not prepared with a male birthday, congrats etc. card. Since I own so many girly stamps and digis i thought I should start focusing more on the masculine images and this seemed so appropriate.

Although my card is simple I think it will work for anyone who loves the great outdoors and especially for those duck hunters.

I added some pearls and a sentiment to complete the look.
Products:
Eureka Duck Digi
Viva Decor Pearl Pen in Copper
Justrite Anchors Away Birthday Sentiment
Colorbox copper ink pad
Cuttlebug Folder Forest Branches
Kraft and Mud Bazzill cardstock
Fatigue DP

613 Avenue Create-Snow Bunny

Greetings! WElcome to my little space on the blogsphere. I am so pleased to showcase my newest DT project for 613 Create Challenge Blog. Our challenge today is "Winter Blues"
I had the lovely opportunity to make 2 cards. The first use an image by Fitztown called Winter 10 and the second using The Wild Swan by Nicecrane.

Here are my projects!
For Winter 10 I also added some glitter to her hood and cuffs. In "real life" the shimmer adds a nice touch. I alos thought the touch of red in her hair went really well with the teal colored coat.
Winter 10

1/20/2014

For this card, I just loved the image and wanted to keep it simple. A CAS card for this one. I simply added the sentiment by stamping with a $1.00 stamp I got at Michaels Craft Store and the faux stitching.

Products:
Stella Rose 6x6 MME paper pad
recollection pearls
metal star from Oriental Trading
Bazzill cardstock

613 Avenue Create Block Party

Hi all and welcome! Here again with another DT sample for 613 Avenue Create. I was so lucky so be able to use a fun versitile digi image from Vectoria Designs. These little movie tickets. I love that with a digi I was able to go in and size it to my needs and type text for the specific special occasion.
Today we have not only another challenge over on at the blog but also our block party! How exciting!!! We are celebrating a 1 year blogaversary and in honor of the special day we are offering lots of giveaways. Go on over and check it out!

So, my best friend and I are huge movie buffs. We are the ones who like to quote lines from movies we really like in non-related situations. I know it sounds crazy (you can't imagine how much we've exhausted the script from Forest Gump) In any case when i saw the Vectoria Designs I immediate knew I wanted to make something movie related. And since they are a vintage style I stuck to the neutral tones.
This card won:

Using My Tools Thursday # 27 - Winter Skis

Greetings! It's yet another Thursday and this weeks showcase is a card decorated with winter snowflakes and Ski equipment.

The patterned paper comes from a 6x6 Fancy Pants pad Blissful Blizzard. I originally was going to use snowmen and the card was going to be horizontal but I wasn't happy with the shapes of snowmen I had in my Cricut Cartridge stash so I went hunting for something else.
I used the Aspen Snowflake Martha punch to embellish. The hat brad came from a Christmas set of brads by oriental Trading and I embossing the sentiment using white Inkadinkadoo embossing powder.

The card opens down with a blank spot for a hand written greeting.
You can find a tutorial on how to make a Joy Fold card here. You can also find more tutorials on my tutorial tab here.

Here's a close up of the embellishments.
