Card Making Monday- CASE'd Acetate

Hello there! Happy Wednesday! I hope your week is off to a good start. I winter is upon us but I wanted to just bring in a touch of spring. Today's card is a CASE'd card. In fact, I pretty much copied the design and I'm sorry I don't know who I got it from. If I find it I'll update my blog post.

I took a piece of Kraft card stock and folded it in half in a top fold card. Took a piece of acetate and did the same ting. I punched out circles and glued them on and then stamped the flowers on the acetate, added some gems and viola! Done!

I hope you enjoyed my CASE'd card and try making one for yourself. It's a little trick but the effect is impressive. Have a wonderful day and now it's your turn to go make something beautiful!

Purple Girl Tag card

Good Morning and welcome to my newest Using My Tools post. Today's post will be a quick one.  For today's project I pulled out of my stash and repurpose a decorative tag that I made for a design team challenge over a year ago. I intended to use it in some way but never did. I came across it when i was reorganizing my craft room. So I thought, why not?! Make a card!
I hope you enjoy!

I added some holographic embossing power using a butterfly stamp for interest. I also added some swirls to copy the swirl design in the paterned paper.

You can see the original post here for all the products used on this tag.

Told you it was going to be short! :-) Take care and go make something beautiful!

Holiday Style- Day 1 & 3

Greetings! Today's post is going to be a quick one. My best friend from college whom I haven't seen in  quite a few years is flying in for a visit from Florida with her son for the week.  So, I am off to pick her up from the airport.  The post today is shopwcaseing some cards I made for the Holiday Style online card class. I am playing catch up. These cards are from day 1 which is are clean and simple designs and the Classic Elegant designs.  I am happy with the first two cards but the lasty one feels like an epic fail and needs something, I think?  I hope you enjoy my take on the class and let me know what I can do to the final snowflake card to save it from card failure.

Products:
 Winter Wondeerland Set Cuttlebug folder
Fresh Moss distress ink
Lawn Fawn Winter Scripty saying stamp set
Snowflake embellishment from Michaels arts & Craft store
Colorbox- gold ink

For this card we had to create a scene so I chose to keep this card more masculine in theme with this forest scene

Products:
Fresh Moss, Chipped Saphire, Salty Ocean, Stormy Sky distress inks
Gina K Designs The Northwoods stamp set
Stampin' Up Lovely as a Tree Stamp Set
Hemp cord
Gold Twine
Hero Arts Merry Christmas Message stamp set

So this is my epic fail....Thios class called for Classic and Elegant. The snowflakes are embossed in glitttery embossing powder which is not showing up in the picture but for some reason what I had in my head for this card did not translate onto the paper. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Products:
CAS-ual Friday Stamp set Bring on the Snowflakes from the SOA box Catherine Pooler
Pretty Pink Posh sparkling clear sequins
clear gems
Whispers Snowflake embossing powder
ribbon from Michaels arts and craft store

That's it for now, come back tomorrow for more online card class inspiration! Have a great week!

UMT- Teal Feathers Notepad cover

Good Morning! So for today's Using My Tools Thursday post I chose to pull out some embellishments that were hiding away in boxes and drawers. I used them on a homemade notepad cover with coordinating notepad and pen. I made this one for my mom. She loves the ocean and so I thought she might like the teal color. I originally was going to use some seaside stickers but once I pulled them out I felt it just didn't work so I went hunting in my stash. The whole purpose of Using My Tools posts! Yea!!
I hope you enjoy. You can find the tutorial I used to make this Notepad cover under my tutorial tab.

I found the image on line using a google search for vintage photos. I made sure to use ones that did not have a watermark or come from a site that looked like it might be copyrighted. I used an R.S>V. Pen from Staples in order to add my matching patterned paper to the pen.

Here's a close up of the embellishments.

I also added some sequins  and clear gems for added bling.
and here's the inside coordinated as well with the patterned paper.

this was lots of fun and I made a few more so I'll be sharing those along the way over the next several months.

Products:
Bazzill card stock-Rain
RSVP Pen
Wild Orchid Flowers
Bazzill card stock-Lily Pond
Patterned paper- Me & My Big Ideas -Fashion District 12 x 12 stack
ribbon
metal embellishment for my stash

I hope you enjoyed my post and find time to try this project yourself. I think it's a nice project to personalize and you could certainly use your own photos. Maybe some of the kids or pets.

Have a fantastic Thursday and I hope you find the time to make something beautiful.....

You Are Loved Double Pocket Card

Hello and welcome to my blog post for today! Today's post showcases a card using a double pocket fold. I posted the YouTube tutorial I used under my tutorial tab. Just scroll down until you see Double Pocket Fold. All my tutorials in an alphabetical order.
I hope you like it.

Here's a look at the tags tucked inside and a peek inside the card

I also made a coordinating envelope. I am hoping to do that with all my cards now. I've tried to go back and make some envelopes for cards I have in my stash. What a bore! So, I've decided to make a good effort to do so just going forward.

The Enamel Dot embellishments  on the front of the card were also made by me. I followed a few tutorials on YouTube and then just tweaked and combined directions to fit my needs and oven. I love them! They came out fantastic and I was able to get over 5,000 beads in various sizes for a little less than $10.00!

Thank you for stopping by. Don't forget to check out the tutorial on my tutorial tab if you want to give this card a try.  Have a wonderful Wednesday and I hope you find some time to make something beautiful!

CMM - Classic Sympathy using Inchies

Good Morning! Todays Card Making Monday post is a card that we all don't enjoy making but are neccessary from time to time...sympathy cards. I kept this design classic. Those inchie stamps were such the rage a few years ago and that's probably the last time I used them. I thought I'd pull them out and add some sympathy cards to my stash.

Nothing special just black and white layered and three score lines on the right side. The sentiment is from a $ stamp from Michaels Arts & Crafts.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a great Monday and I hope you find some time to make something beautiful!

Scrapbook Saturday - Game Day

Happy Saturday! Welcome to my Scrapbook Saturday posting. Todays page makes a fun use of a split page. I kept this page very linear.
I embossed the checkers die cuts with an embossing folder, used brads for the tag and use Word for my journaling, printed it out and then used my trimmer to cut the peices and pasted them in place.

Thank you to my followers for always checking out my latest creation and Thank you if your visiting. Please consider following me. UMT - Washi Tape Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope everyone will enjoy thier day filled with family, laughter and of course food. I also hope for us crafters you get a chance to put some paper to work today while the guys are watching football. Today's card is one of my favorites and all of my recipients hav them in hand already. I used some homemade washi tape. If you'd like to try to make your own washi tape you can find the tutorial I used under the tutorial tab.

Here is a close up of the homemade washi tape. I love making my own because I can customize the tap to my project design, colors and images and I don't have a ton of  washi tape rolls. Although, I am kinds stumped about how to use it. Not too many varying examples online. Would love to be more creative with it on cards. Leave me a comment below with your oideas on how to use washi tape.

Here's a close up of the digital image I printed. I don't typical used pre colored digital images, I like stamps and ink but for the quanitity I had to make (35 cards) I thought this was more practiccal and I love the look of the card in the end.
I also used the window and woodgrain techniques. So I put my tutorial library to work for this card. You can find tutorials for all the techniques I used today under my tuitorial tab and some inspiration samples of each too!

Happy Thanksgiving. Have a blessed and relaxing day!

UMT- Vintage Notepad Cover

Welcome to my newest Using My Tools Post. Today's project is something different than I usually do. I decided to take on a notebook cover and use some of my Wild Orchid flowers I haven't used in a while. In fact, I got ambitious and made 8 different notebook styles and I'll be posting those over the next several weeks. I hope you like today's project and find inspiration to pull out of your stash some gentle neglected tool, embellishment or paper of your own and make something beautiful.
I began by watching a Youtube tutorial on how to make this notebook Cover. You can find the tutorial on my blog under the tutorial tab. I started the project by pulling some images from a google search resizing them and then printed it in color.
I then made the cover per the instructions in the tutorial, added the pattern paper to the pen, some photo corner mounts and the flowers
Here's a closeup of the flower decorations

Here's a close up of the pen

and a close up of the decorated notebook

I hope you are inspired to try making this notebook yourself. Again, you can find the tutorial I used under my tutorial tab.

Supplies:

Hey There,
Welcome to my Whatever Wednesday, it's my day to just post whatever project I'm working on. No particular theme. Today's post is very casual. I have have been rediscovering my love for the bleaching technique. If you haven't heard of it yet, you can find a tutorial under my Tutorial tab on this blog. I have additional samples posts for design inspiration too. Anyway, I brought out some Penny Black stamps and some cardstock scraps and got bleaching!

So make sure to check bback over the next few days, weeks and months. I have some fun goodies for you as well as a chance to win my blog candy!

Hello and welcome to my Tinsel Tuesday post. I couldn't wait to share with you my first card using the Stamp of Approval Box by Catherine Pooler.  I've been dabbling in acetate cards lately and so I thought why not use a Christmas image and color it with my Copic markers and add some glitter for bling. I chose to use My Favorite Things sketch MFTWSC15 for inspiration.

I die cut the center window then used the negative space to make a frame. I also framed the inside patterned paper piece.

CMM - Pretty in Pink Glitter

Hello and Welcome to my Card Making Monday post! I am so excited to share with you today's card. This card has a little story and comes with a warning, actually a tip or recommendation I should say ;-). Today's card uses a new to me tutorial which I will link under my tutorial tab. Just look for the picture of todays card (see warning below)
I just love how this card turned out! So feminine and I just love the clean look and all that pink!

I used glossy accents to attach my glitter and then once all my glitter dried I went back with another thin layer of glossy accents to seal it in. I thought I might add another layer of acetate but then i realized any loose glitter would just get trapped inbetween the two layers of acetate and make a mess so i thought sealing it in with glossy accents was the best choice.

here comes...the warning. lol.
When I decided to attempt this card it was one of those sleepless nights. Hubby snoring and all. it was about 1am and I completed my first glitter acetate card by 2am.
This was my first attempt.

the warning...don't craft at 2am. lol yuck!

Supplies:
Blended Bloom by Stampin' Up
Flourentine Gold, Tourmaline & Kunzite Martha Stewart glitter
white StazOn
white sequins
Dual Tone Prizm Diamond by Jolee's Boutique
silver thread
pink glitter ribbon

I hope you enjoyed my glitter acetate card as much as I do. Have a great Monday and now it's your turn to make something beautiful!
