Card Making Monday # 6 -Get Well Rose

Hello to another week and another posting of Card Making Monday! I'm so excited your here to visit and hope you  leave a comment on this post. I love hearing your thoughts about my projects!
I used the Mojo Monday sketch for Nov. 16, 2009-week 113. Being a get well card, I wanted to make it cheery so I used bright yellow paper for the layers. The patterned paper is from MME 6x6 pad, Quilting Bee.  The brads are from Recollections as well as the yellow demensional roses. I think this card will bring a little feel better warmth to anyone who needs a little pick me up.

I used copics for the coloring and a little ink to sponge the outer edges.

Thanks for visiting. I hope you enjoyed my card creations and come back for another posting of Card Making Monday. Check back for this weeks Saturday Scrapbook Layout for more ideas and inspiration. Have a beautiful day!

Scrapbook Saturday # 6 - Double Digits

Hello and thanks for visiting! This weeks layout uses the Cricut Cartridge Quarter Note. Because the focus of the layout is my daughters birthday and the black and white theme of the music notes I kept the layout simple.
I used a 1 1/2 inch square punch from Recollections for the various patterned paper squares and added some journaling from a word document printed on acid free cardstock.

I added the cricut music notes to embellish. I often use various styles of text boxes put through my PC printer and then trimmed to fit for layouts for journaling. I like the crisp, clean look of the typed journaling boxes. So that's it for today, a simple clean birthday scrapbook layout.

Have a great Saturday and thank you for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed my layout and find time to make something beautiful today!

Using My Tools Thursday # 10 - Babies Galore

Welcome! Welcome to another posting of Using My Tools Thursday! This week I used several tools that need some dusting. lol I combined a stamped image, some pattermed paper just begging to be used from my stash and an embossing folder.  I have a few friends and family members ready to give birth. I thought I'd sit down and make a few cards to celebrate and have on hand ready to go.
I used OWH Bonus sketch 1 for these cards. You can find the sketches here. For the paper, I used Bazill cardstock in Lily Pond and Mud Pie. The patterned paper is Heidi Grace Designs Baby Girl/New Arrival and Ally's Wonderland Caterpiller Cusion.

You can see a close up of the Cuttlebug embossing folder Perfect Paisley and I used a Recollections brad to gather the ribbon I bought from Gina k Designs. You can find the ribbon from Gina K here.

For these cards I used paper from Me & My Big Ideas Mambi Sheets paper stack
I used Lili of the Valley stamp images ST227 Baby with Bunny and ST059 Baby Blanket. You can find Lili stamps here

for the extra image left over I did a simple card design and added a ribbon.

Thanks for checking our how I used some old tools I've had for a while and how I put them to good use.  Please leave comments and consider following me too! See you on Saturday for Scrapbook Saturday posting. Have a great day and go make something beautiful!

I just couldn't wait to use this Mojo Monday sketch! It's week 139. You can find the Mojo Monday sketches here.

For this sketch, I used a tag from Gypsy Wanderings from my Cricut cartridge collection, some stickers from Walmart I purchased over a year ago, Hero Arts sentiment - Year Round Sentiments and some jute cord & ribbon from my stash.

The card is pretty simple yet balanced in color and design. This card will be heading off to my nephew who just finished bootcamp. A little reminder to him we are thinking of him and are thankful for his sacrifices.

OWH Sketch 182 & MWT Christmas in July

Hello and welcome OWH'ers to my blog! I'm so happy your here and hope you enjoy my card. Feel free to browse any other of my postings and consider following me. I thought I'd take the opportunity to double dip and use this weeks sketch to fulfill the Midweek Christmas in July challenge. I used the rule of odd numbers from one of our OWH Bootcamp too! You can find the bootcamps link here.
For this card I used some papers from a 12 x 12 paper stack by Recollections. It's called Frosty Cabin and it was given to me this past season. The ribbon actually is red with white polka dots but I flipped it since I used several pattern papers, I also used a $ stamp from Michaels and clear gems.

I hope you like this project and come back to check out my Card Making Monday, Using My Tool Thursday and Scrapbook Saturday postings. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and have a great week! Remember now it's your turn to go make something beautiful!

ODBD Challenge -July-Stitching

Hello All! Welcome and thank you for checking out my ODBD challenge card! This one is being sent to my 15 year old son who has been hanging out in NH at my sister's house for the last few weeks. He's 3 hours away and I thought I'd send him a card letting him know his Mama misses him. The challenge was to use stitching and at first ,I was going to use my sewing machine but I chose to use the contrast of the white pen instead.
I used a 6x6 paper pad by Carta Bella Giddy Up, 3 brads from the office supply store and Quick Sand Bazill cardstock. The sticker embellishments are from Paper House but theres no name on the sticker set so here's the product number (STDM-0035)

The stickers already had some demensional adhesive on the back so I was able to plunk them on and be finished.

So glad you stopped by and don't forget,  go make something beautiful today!

Using My Tools Thursday # 9 - Polka Dot

Welcome, welcome! Thank you so much for visiting my blog and for tuning in for the next posting of Using My Tools Thursday. This week I used a dot stamp...I kept repeating the dot theme throughout the card. I embossed dots, used dot paper and picked up the dots in the flower centers.

I used Mojo Monday Sketch for March 16, 2009. You can find Mojo Monday sketches here. They are great for inspiration! If you're looking for A2 card size sketches that include measurements you can try the Stars and Stripes blog at Operation Write Home. They  post a new one every week. You can find the blog here.

So, I stamped the dots with Paper Smooches stamp, Geo-Graphics. I then embossed them using Stampendous embossing powder in Pirate Gold. I added the ribbon and curry embroidery thread for texture.
I've been making more encouragment-like cards to have handy. I'm trying to build up a little stash so when it comes to needing a specific themed card I'm not stressed out under a deadline. Often times my husband will come to me and say, "Can you make me a card for my ....?" Depending on my crazy scedule at the time, I then scramble to make something and it never comes out as good as when I have time to play.

I also used my 3D cut files from SVGCuts.com again. I just love that I can size the flowers to whatever I need. The cut file includes centers but I liked the shimmer of the stickers that I purchased from
Wal-mart. The flowers are cut at 1.25 and 1.5 inches. You can find the SVGCut.com  files here. The stamp came from a $ stamp I bought from JoAnn Fabrics. Unfortunately there wasn't a specific set name on the package.

So, that's it. My Thursday using my tools posting. I hope you are inspired to use some tools that you were so excited to buy and then put aside never to be used. I would love to have you follow me and I'd be glad to follow you! I've begun to list the blogs I follow on a side column in my blog so others can check them out. Slow going with my limited time to craft and blog but it's getting there! lol  Again, have a wonderful Thursday and please go make something beautiful!

Little did I know way back then that I would be scrapbooking this photo years later when I picked up the hobby.

Using My Tools Thursday # 8-Chevron Celebration

Welcome and thank you for visitng on this beautiful Thursday! I had so much fun making this card. I pulled out my chevron folder I hadn't used not once since I bought it, added the cheveron paper from a DCWV Premium stack and pretty much everything under the sink for this card! lol
I used Mojo Monday sketch week 105. Find more Mojo Monday sketches here.

The sentiment rubber stamp is something I picked up in the $ bin at my local Michaels Arts & Craftts store. I pulled out my Janome sewing mechine to add the zig zag stitching. I also used the embossing Chevron folder by Darice on the circles cut were punched out with a EK Success 1 1/4 punch. I think the buttons gathering the ribbon just added a nice final touch.

I hope you like my birthday card as much as I do and remember to use soemthing in your stash that's been sorely neglected and make something beautiful! Happy Thursday everyone!

Using My Tools Thursday # 7 -Stars!

Hello and welcome! I'm so glad your browsing my blog and I hope you find inspiration to create something beautiful of your own. Happy 4th of July!!!!! So there's a few things I used on this card from my stash that were well...stashed away for a while.
I wanted lots of layers, textures and ofcourse a patriotic theme for this card. I used a tag from Cricut Cartridge Gypsy Wanderings, sentiment stamp by Hero Arts, Everyday Sentiments and some stickers I picked up at Wal-mart last year on clearence. I also added the little blue rhinestones to just balance everything out.

I pop dotted the layers and embossed both the red and blue cardstock by Bazzil Admiral and Ruby Slipper with the Cuttlebug folder, Stars

I hope you have an enjoyable celebration today, remember to be thankful for all the freedoms we have because of the sacrifice of others!

I used Mojo MOnday sketch week 138. I added a Hero Arts Sentiment stamp Everyday Sentiments and a few rhinestones.

I also wanted to add some texture so I included the striped ribbon for a dramatic effect.
