Easter cards are the theme this week for the throwdown. I've been revisiting my love for The Sound of Music this week and so with that I've been thinking about other musicals I just love to watch. In the spirit of one musical with an Easter theme; I opted out of doing the traditional bunnies or religious theme and thought "Easter Bonnet" from Easter Parade with Judy Garland. even though I didn't use the traditional pastels I think this card could still meet the mark for a kids Easter card. oh...I ended up using the information i learned from the OWH color therory tutorial too! Ok...on to the sketch. I grabbed a packet from my homemade 6 x 6 paper collection (Link here) *scroll to almost at the bottom of the post* for this card. It's been so fun doing that and envisioning what each little stack is destined to become. This was my first attempt at using colored pencils on a card. I was inspired by a tutorial on OWH using pencils with a chalkboard paper ( Link Here )I just grabbed a package fom my local discount store. If i really get start using them more I'll have to invest in a really good artist quality set but for now these worked just fine. I hope you enjoy and please leave a comment. I'd love to hear your thoughts and answer any questions!
