Card Making Monday # 41 - American Quilt

Welcome to a new Card Making Monday post.

What can be more American that quilting?! Ok, ok after apple pie and basballl. lol With July 4th fast approacing I chose to pull out my red, white and blue scraps and create a quilted patterned for this card.
This allows for lots of detail without the bulk frowned upon in the mailroom. In addition I kept the ribbon knots relatively flat so no big bumps when in the envelope.

Here's my peice of Americana with my American Patriotic card...what ya think?

Here's a closeup of  the zig zag stitching I used for the quilt. You can find tips and strategies on how to add stitching to your cards here. You can also find more tutorials on my tutorial tab here. I kept the sentiment and other embellishments simple so that the stitching could take front and center.

This card will make it's way to Operation Write Home. If you want to know more click on the badge located on the right of my blog.

Products:
paper scraps from my stash
stitching
Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cartridge for tag
blue ribbon

UMT Thursday # 38 & a Tutorial-Summer Daisies

Welcome followers and friends to my Thursday post of Using My Tools. For today's project I pulled a Lili of the Valley Stamp  out of my stash that hasn't been used yet. Boy, I've had this stamp for at least a year and I finally grabbed it to make this summer themed card bookmark combo.

I used a tutorial from Youtube to help me make this card You can find the tutorial I used to make the bookmark card here and another one here. You can also find more tutorials on my tutorial tab here.
I used Copic Markers to color her in and added some shimmer pearl pen to the petals for some shine.
I perforated the card stock for the bookmark so it can be easily removed by the recipient.
Here's the bookmark attached.

Here's the bookmark removed. I added matching ribbon and a prima flower with brad center to coordinate with the card.

Using My Tools Thursday # 37- Gingham Birthday

Welcome followers and friends to my Thursday post of using my tools. Every other Thursday I try to pull something out of my stash that at one time I thought I just "HAD" to have and finally use it. It's my opportunity to pull something out of my stash I bought a while ago and didn't use or something that's collecting dust and hasn't been used in a while. For this card, I grabbed one of the tutorials on my tutorial page -the Squash card- You can find the tutorial here and many more tutorials tutorial tab here.

So what Using My Tools products am I using for this card? The floral stamp set,  pearls and this black floral paper from my stash.
I colored the  white pearls with my black copic marker and added the black gingham ribbon. Side note: Don't adhere the ribbon to the back of the card- I did on this card and found out pretty quickly you won't be able to open the card all the way. Thankfully the ATG tape I use is forgiving and I was able to remove the ribbon from the back and rub off the extra glue.

You can find the tutorial for this squash card on my Tutorial tab.

I hope you enjoyed my posting and please comment and let me know what you like best! I love to hear your comments! Have a great thursday and  I'll see you back tomorrow for my Feature Friday post where I'll showcase work from my followers and give shout outs to those who have joined all things beautiful

Tinsel Tuesday # 4-On Dasher

Welcome to my fourth  Tinsel Tuesday post. I am making my Christmas cards early. So, every other Tuesday I'll be posting a Christmas card in hopes by December 1st I'll have a nice selection ready to be stuffed in envelopes and put in the mailbox.

For this card, I used a tutorial. You can find the tutorial here and many more tutorials under my tutorial tab here.
Here's my card...
I cut these embellishments from the Doodlecharms Cricut cartridge.

The sentiment is from Stampin' Up and I used Martha Stewart's Cherished border punch for a decorative element around the bottom of the card.
and I added some google eyes and used Swiss Dots & Babies Breath embossing folders by Cuttlebug.

I hope you've enjoyed my latest Christmas card and see you back in a couple of weeks!
Now go make something beautiful!

Card Making Monday # 40- My Deepest Sympathy

Good Morning to all of you! Thank you for stopping by today.
Today is Monday so that means I'm sharing a card with you.

I really enjoyed the blind embossing technique I  used for Mail It Monday a few weeks ago.
I chose to use a Stampin' Up embossing folder for these cards. I wanted to keep the design clean and simple.
I used a spellbinder Nestabilitie for the sentiment piece and it's border.
I also chose to add a trio of gems to balance the design.
Here's a close up of the sentiment which comes from Gina K Designs.

I hope you enjoyed my Card Making Monday card. Let me know what you think. I sincerely appreciate your comments. They keep my crafting.

Thank you to my followers for always checking out my latest creation and if your visiting please consider following me. Father's Day Wishes card

  Hello and Happy Father's Day!
I finally finished my last Father's Day card a few days ago for this year's special day for dads.  I thought today would be the perfect day to share it with you. You can find my other 2 cards here and here
Today's card layout was inspired by a recent Gina K Designs tutorial found here.
I kept the layer colors for this card very masculine. I used my score board to add some dimension to the card stock and stamped the sentiment on vellum.
I popped up the deer image with some dimensional adhesive to help it stand out. I found this stamp in the $1.00 bin at JoAnn fabrics and fussy cut it. I ran a dark colored marker around the edges to mask any white space and the background piece was cut from a spellbinder, while still in the nestibilitie I colored the background using Tim Holtz distress stain and then stamped on top with another $1.00 stamp with sage green ink.

So that's my last Father's day card but I do have one more card to show you. I made this card a few months ago using a tutorial I saw on the Top Tip Tuesday Challenge Blog. The link to the tutorial is on my tutorial tab at the top. I made a few of the cards without using any sentiments so that I could personalize them as needed.

I thought I would show you one I finally personalized.

Well, I hope you've enjoyed joining me in my Father's Day card making frenzy this last week and I hope you find time to spend with loved ones today and always find time to make something beautiful!
