CMM # 45 -Envelope Washi Card & 2 Tutorials!

Good Morning to all of you! Today is Card Making Monday!
For this card I used a window technique. You can find a tutorial here under the tutorial tab for window cards but I did something unique with this card. I added an envelope for a little cash.
This card was made for my daughter's friend as a birthday gift.
I learned the envelope idea from the Insider class by Online Card Classes.

Here's My Card...

I made the washi tape myself and you can find a make your own washi tape tutorial here as well as lots of other tutorials under my tutorial tab here.

The cash fits nicely in the 2 x 2 inch envelope.

I hope you enjoyed my Card Making Monday card. Let me know what you think. I sincerely appreciate your comments. They keep my crafting.

I think I was just waiting for the perfect image to pair with it.

I hope you enjoy my card.

Here's a closeup of the metal background..

I used a tutorial here  to inspire me with parts of  this technique. You can also find many more tutorials on my tutorial page here.

CMM # 44 - Watercolor Daisies

Hello to a brand new Monday! This is my first completed watercolor card. It certainly wasn't my foirst attemp at watercolor. lol Oh MY! I took the watercolor class at online classes and have been practicing. I'm a put everythig in its pace kinda person so the abstract look that can come with watercolor is out of my norm. For this card I used the distress markers.

I added some gens for the center and some silver sequins for texture and bling.

That's been the hardest part for me. I've used lots of watercolor paper and thrown out most of my attempts. For me, it's been hard to control the waterflow and have ended up with a bunch of mess. I should have started with a simple design like this one forst. Instead I started with a hug sunflower image with lots of details.
Here's the many messy attempts before this card.

I'm not sure which medium I like best. I bought a small box of tubed watercolors from Ocoean State Job lot, a bunch of distress stains and some distress markers. I''ve almost come to mix all three in some of my practice images.

Now it's your turn to go make somethng beautiful....

Scrapbook Saturday # 39 - My Getaway

Welcome to my little spot on the blogsphere for first Scrapbook Saturday post in August of 2014.
This time I caught a picture of the spa and pool at the resort I stayed in last year at a crop weekend I planned for myself. I needed some time away from the family and we had some points we had to use for our time share so viola! I decide to take only myself ( for the first time ever) on vacation for the weekend. I packed up my cropping supplies and my sister and I headed for the resort.

lol...it rained all weekend so good thing I was making it a scrapbooking weekend. I got lots done but I did find time to go to the pool and jacuzzi. They even had an indoor water slide which you can see in the background that led to the big pool.

UMT # 42 -Banner Bash

Welcome to my newest Using My Tools post. So for new friends and visitors Using My Tools posts are crafty creations where I pull something out of my stash that at one time, I thought I just "HAD" to have and finally use it. This time it's my banner punch from Stampin' Up and in one of the cards an SVGCusts file for the pop-up sentiment. I actually got this punch free from an order I place in March and I was so excited to receive it but hadn't put it to work yet. Well. I recently saw a card on Pinterest here with lots of banners and I was inspired!

I was so inspired I made two cards. I really should do this more often because it takes so long to design and making the second card took much less time once I had all the pieces ready to go.

I added some stitching to the border punch to add some texture. The decorative button I had in my stash and anytime I pull a decorative element out of my stash like a button, charm or brad it's usually been a while since I've used them.

I used embroidery floss to tie all the banners together.

Here's the sentiment pop-up. I'm sent the horizontal card to the gals at work for sending me well wishes and cards during my medical leave for my knee surgery.

I hope you've enjoyed my latest Using My Tools post and are inspired to use some of your tools, paper or embellishments that have gone long neglected.

GDT- Let Your Light Shine

Welcome back and Happy Monday! This is my first day back to work after a long recovery from knee surgery so things are a little hectic but I want to be sure I shared with you my last Design Team creation on Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog. You can find the blog here. For this post it's an Anything Goes. I seem to be in a nautical kick lately. I've recently bought some stamps with some lighthouses from My Favorite Things and Hero Arts. The sentiment on this card is from my MFT stamp set.  So I couldn't help but make a lighthouse card using my Life's A Beach Cricut Cartridge!

Here it is...
The entire card is made from Life's A Beach. I also added some embossing from a Divine Swirls a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder.

Hope you enjoyed my Card and make sure to pull out some of your cartridges and make a fun card. oh, and make sure to mail it to someone. Sometimes I get in the habit of making beautiful cards and not mailing them out. This one is already in the hands of the receiver. I mailed this one out to my mother. She loves all things from the sea so I knew she'd really love this one!

Take care and I hope you have a wonderful week!
